The NMC Construction Group decided to give the gift of reading for Mandela Day 2016 by donating a mobile library to the children of Norwood Primary School in Elsies River.

There were many different elements to this project, the donation came together wonderfully with employees donating, sorting and covering books. In addition, the container housing the library needed to be painted, furnished, decorated and fitted with electricity. With the kind assistance of a few of our partners and further employee involvement NMC was able to deliver a fully kitted mobile library to the school on 18 July 2016, opening the new term with a brand new library.

A few NMC employees joined the teachers of Norwood primary on Mandela Day to host reading groups in each class – getting the kids excited about books.

A big thank you to all those who generously contributed to this project; NMC employees, Mokwena Surfacing, NMC Civils, Valley Electrical, Teck Flooring, Mural Maniac, Futura Signs and Sedick Schloss – Greystone Paving.
